Robins

The robin on the bird bath has been attacking its reflection in the basement glass window for two days; the one in the background collects grass for the nest.

Burning Grass

It's always fun to light a match and watch stuff burn, provided it's not in or near your house. Yesterday I lit a few patches of decorative grass in my butterfly garden. The bottom photo shows that just about everything has returned this spring.

Baldwin Woods

There are plenty of interesting things in the Baldwin Woods besides mushrooms. Here are some of them Josh and I found yesterday. (photos taken with my Blackberry) Above and below: empty turkey eggs.

Baldwin City Mushrooms

One of the nice fat morels I found yesterday in the Baldwin Woods. Here are some of the others along the game trails:

Sarcoscypha coccinea

Dacrymyces chrysospermus

Auricularia polytricha

Volvariella pusilla

Possibly some fading Urnula craterium

Spring Gardens

The far east end of my largest garden. I planted sweet corn in three rows, with a thin layer of chips in between so I won't step on the seeds. I placed whirleys every three feet to try and scare away the resident rabbit.

One of my raised beds has bok choy, carrots, broccoli and onions.

The inside of my greenhouse, south side. Tomatoes, peppers and a dead mum I'm not ready to give up on.
